The Jungleee
Well during these chapters they all mostly explained how the family's life was going. It was good to see that Jurgis and Ona could find a job but, on the down side it only paid about 2 dollars an hour. I didn't like how when they were buying their house, that it was old and gross. I didn't really understand why they even bought the house? but okay. In the fifth chapter it was really gross to hear about how the diseased and sick meat got put together with the healthy meat. Even though there were people who checked it every month who knows how much still went out that was bad. In chapter six I really didn't get that much out of it other than the grandmother telling Jurgis that the house they got was bad. So I guess that chapter wasn't really helpful to me. Chapter seven was a pretty depressing chapter in my opinion. It was winter now and people were getting very sick from the cold, and the places they worked the owners didn't keep it very warm. I thought that was sad because if your going to have people work for you, you should at least have the heat on especially when it's freezing outside. This chapter also said how because of the veslija it has put them into 100 dollars of debt, and when their sick they can't take off work so their not going to get out of debt anytime soon, which was also saddening.
